You are not the problem; you are trapped in a cycle of communication that keeps you stuck.
Whether you are looking for space to improve communications, de-escalate and step outside a problem-saturated story, explore the underlying emotions keeping you “stuck,” set boundaries for a new relationship or redefine your existing relationship; therapy offers a safe space to be vulnerable with and seen by your partner(s), focus on your individual and shared values, be witnessed as you say what you’ve been wanting to say, reflect on each other’s truths and co-create your preferred story.
One of the goals of relationship therapy is to open paths of communication, and sometimes your newfound ability to speak your truth will uncover insurmountable differences. When that happens, I will help you end your relationship (couples, polyamorous, professional) in a positive way that nurtures open communication and lasting respect for one another. We will create space for acknowledgment, connection amidst disconnection, and reflection. Together, we will facilitate moving forward with newly established boundaries, shared goals, and a sense of appreciation for all involved.
I offer a tailored, integrative approach to relationship therapy influenced by my training and experience in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), and my education and knowledge of family systems, attachment theory, Narrative Therapy Informed Relational Interviewing, The Gottman Method and AEDP. I am sex positive and LGBTQ Affirmative.
